2023 Oscar Winner: Best Picture
Everything Everywhere All at Once
Everything Everywhere All At Once took home a total of seven awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, at 2023’s Academy Awards, featuring a video from Newsflare. The clip used has been a popular one, used by several publishers and producers.

Escape from Kabul
Escape from Kabul, a documentary about the U.S. withdrawal of its troops from Afghanistan in 2021, was nominated for Best Single Documentary at the BAFTA TV awards. The documentary features two clips sourced from Newsflare’s archive used to tell the story about the evacuation of tens of thousands of Afghan citizens from Kabul airport after the Taliban seized the city.

Freedom: 50 Years of Pride
Made in collaboration with Oscar-nominated filmmaker, Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, The Crown) and playwright Joe Robertson, the inspiring story of Pride and queer activism in the UK over the last five decades is told by Olly Alexander, Bimini and Sir Ian McKellen through first-person testimony and archive footage. A vault of 350k videos means that producers can access a broad range of content themes. Newsflare video experts helped find the footage for this important landmark documentary, commemorating 50 years since the first Pride march in 1972.
