Newsflare has Paid out £8 Million to its Filmers
A decade ago creators were largely on the fringes of mainstream entertainment and news, but those days are long gone. You’re now at the epicentre - the key ingredient in social publishing, news media, TV, OTT streaming, film production and advertising.
Whether you are new to the world of user generated content (UGC) creation or would like to hone your skills and monetise your content better, Newsflare is here to help you. So let’s get straight into it and tackle the big issue…
Rewarding your talent
More than 50 million people worldwide now consider themselves to be a creator. The power of the creator economy can’t be ignored and believe me, platforms, streamers, producers, advertisers and publishers are waking up to your star power.
But this is no surprise to us here at Newsflare. Rewarding our creators is at the heart of what we do - you are after all, the reason we exist. It may surprise you to learn that in the last 5 years alone, we have paid out more than £8 million to our talented community of creators.
Whether you’re filming on your mobile phone, Go Pro or video camera, or providing footage from your dashcam or CCTV, our primary goal is to maximise your earnings. We offer complete transparency – you’re notified instantly once a client has licensed your video, and then receive 50% of the license fee, plus royalties for any direct sales, within 24 hours.
Let me give you a couple of examples of just what we’re talking about here. Take a look at Newsflare creator Mirja Milosevic known as Kika Studio, a talented makeup artist from Serbia who has been uploading to Newsflare since 2016. Videos of her amazing body paint illusions have been picked up by the BBC, The Sun, The Daily Mail, The Mirror, Right this Minute, RTL, Reuters and The Washington Post, to name but a few.
Or how about Melody Roop (aka Pond Girl) the filmer of one of TikTok’s viral hits. The video of her family dyeing their pond bright blue generated over 36.5 million views plus another 31 million views on our Facebook. We’ve also sold her clips to RightThisMinute and News York Post as well growing her presence globally by featuring her on our Facebook and YouTube channels.
Two very different examples, but what they have in common is that the Newsflare team worked hard on their behalf to get these talented filmers’ efforts noticed, and importantly rewarded. Of course, for some of our filmers, especially those that have borne witness to something distressing, reward is not important. Newsflare donated £3,000 to The British Red Cross in 2020 on behalf of our members.
