An electrifying phenomenon
This footage shows the moment an electrifying desert phenomenon left tourists stunned in northwest China. As they reached the peak of a sand dune for some leisurely exploration, everyone was taken aback when their hair started to stand on end, emanating a sizzling noise. Zhao, who has worked as a desert guide in the area for over a decade, expressed his astonishment, stating it was the first time he’d ever encountered such a phenomenon. For insights into this incident, associate Professor Wu Xueke of the Atmospheric Science School at Lanzhou University explained that the phenomena were caused by electrified clouds above the tourists’ heads. In such circumstances, humans act as a sharp point, leading to a severe distortion of the electric field around the head, resulting in the sensation of hair being induced by static electricity.

Safety last
A bungee rocket ride snapped, leaving terrified riders dangling in mid-air in northern China. The footage shows a rocket-like ride being catapulted into the air when, without warning, the right steel cable breaks, causing the pod to be flung to the left. According to park staff, the riders sustained no injuries but were understandably traumatised. The amusement ride was immediately shut down, and an investigation into the cause of the rope’s failure is underway.

A controversial moment was captured by a plane passenger earlier this month, and shows a fellow passenger desperately trying to stop the woman in front of her from reclining her seat. The woman’s questionable actions generated significant conversation online, with people voicing their differing opinions.

A close call
This little girl’s arm was nearly taken off by a giant tarpon while she was feeding it a minnow. Down in Monroe County, USA, this father took his kids to feed the tarpons, a common activity. Little did they know that this little girl’s arm would be entirely engulfed by a giant tarpon! The girl’s dad was lucky enough to film the moment in slow-motion, capturing his daughter’s priceless response.

Altercations with the world’s biggest celebs
Canadian rapper Drake was seen furiously yelling at a man for fighting with a woman over a towel that he had thrown into the crowd at a concert in the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. Footage captured by Jaslynn Sanch shows Drake chuck his towel into the crowd before stopping to watch the scene unfold. “I will f*** you up, are you crazy?! Are you dumb?” he is heard saying. According to Sanch, the man had snatched the towel out of a woman’s hands.
