Just stop oil just stopped the game

The infamous Just Stop Oil protesters managed to disrupt a cricket match between England and Australia at the Ashes test in London’s Lords on the 28th June 2023. One protestor was hauled off the pitch by England wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow before an entourage of security picked the individual up and removed them from the cricket grounds. It was reported that other protesters were also attempting to enter the match venue.

Risking it all to meet your hero

This teen fan was carried away by security after storming a football pitch to hug Lionel Messi at Beijing Worker’s Stadium. In the footage, a young fan dodged multiple security guards to get to Lionel Messi and even exchanged high-fives with Argentinian goalkeeper Emi Martinez, sending the stadium into a frenzy. The chase ended as the fan finally laid down on the pitch, panting and defeated, only to be carried off by security personnel.

Hilarious hooliganism

This adorable little hooligan ran away with a corner flag causing chaos at a football game in Ireland. The cheeky toddler grabbed the flag just as the ball went out of play, making a beeline for the embankment nearby with his new toy. After a short period of playtime, the flag was retrieved from the toddler and the football match was underway once again.

The weird, the wonderful, and the outright bizarre

You’ve heard of Wimbledon, the Ashes, the Champions League - but have you heard of the World Custard Pie Championships? This bizarre sport that originated in 1967 in Coxheath involves hoards of people flinging pies at each other. Now this sounds like our kind of sport. Participants compete in groups of four, must utilise only their left hand for pie throwing, and are awarded points based on accuracy and impact.

Main stage meltdowns

Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios had an embarrassing outburst on court after losing to Karen Khachanov in their US Open quarterfinal match in September of 2022. The footage, filmed at the Arthur Ashe Stadium, New York, showed Kyrgios destroying two racquets in front of stunned spectators before storming off the court.
