1 - Activists dressed as nurses attempt to ‘revive’ Earth during climate protest in London

Activists in fancy dress attempted to ‘revive’ Earth in a climate protest outside Her Majesty’s Treasury in Westminster, London. The footage, from April 7th 2022, shows the activists using a defibrillator on a model of the globe. The individual’s were protesting against the government’s handling of fossil fuels.

2 - Indonesia unveils 100-metre IG3IS meteorological sensor tower to monitor greenhouse gases

The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics agency (BMKG) inaugurated a greenhouse gas tower to monitor their concentrations as an effort to mitigate global climate change. The footage was filmed at the Global Atmospheric Watch (GAW) station at Kototabang, West Sumatra province, during the peak of commemoration of the 73rd World Meteorology Day on March 20th 2023.

3 - Heat wave kills millions of fish in Australia’s New South Wales

A heat wave back in March 2023 killed millions of fish in the town of Menindee, New South Wales, Australia. Low oxygen levels are thought to have been the cause of these sudden deaths in the Darling River, and temperatures as high as 40C (104F) were recorded on the weekend of March 18th and 19th 2023.

4 - Watch the moment a tornado sweeps through Iowa

This footage captured on the 4th April 2023, shows a twister generating in the clouds above the filmer, and then making contact with the ground in just a couple of minutes. According to the National Weather Service, a tornado touched down near Pleasantville, southeast of Des Moines in Iowa, with another tornado being spotted near Malcom in Poweshiek County.

5 - University students in The Netherlands have created the world’s cleanest car

35 undergraduate students from Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands have created the cleanest car - a fully electric vehicle that removes carbon dioxide from the air. The vehicle - dubbed ‘Zem’ - is 3D printed from recycled plastic, has an interior made of pineapples and a dashboard made of cooking oil. Zem has a pair of carbon filters in the front grill that cleans the atmosphere by removing 4.5lbs of CO2 per 20,000 miles. It’s also fitted with solar panels on the roof which supply around 15% of the car’s stored energy.

6 - Rescuer frees adorable turtle hatchling tangled in plastic on Indian beach

Watch the moment an animal rescuer carefully freed a tiny turtle hatchling from a plastic bag on a beach in southern India. Rescuer Chella arrived at Silver Beach in the state of Tamil Nadu when he spotted the reptile stuck and struggling to break free from the plastic bag. Chella, 34, carefully removed the hatchling and watched it make it to the ocean. Chella, whose original name is V Selvam, is one of Cuddalore’s most famous animal rescuers, and has rescued 7,000 animals since 2017 with the support of local authorities.
